Meet Joshua, Our Preschool Readers Superstar!
Joshua’s mom enrolled him in Preschool Readers to “ensure Joshua would be ready for Kindergarten. Learning how to read is foundational to reading to learn.”

When Preschool Reading Specialist, Ms. Katie, conducted Joshua’s initial reading assessment, he had not yet started reading.
However, Joshua demonstrated strong pre-reading skills. Katie shared, “Joshua did fabulous during his reading assessment with me! Joshua was able to recall and identify the given sight words and follow directions beautifully! Joshua was also able to practice using a taught strategy of pointing to the words while reading a story aloud. Joshua is engaged and excited about learning and I think he would be a great fit for Preschool Readers!”

Since beginning Preschool Readers, Joshua is thriving both in our reading program and in his classroom.
Mom proudly shared, “Joshua recently took a reading assessment at his school and scored in the 84th percentile.” Preschool Reading Specialist, Ms. Katie, echoes this success, stating, “Joshua is doing great with his phase 2 sight words and phonics practice. Joshua is learning how to “sound out” or “tap out” words with short vowel sounds that he sees in stories on his own.”

and sincerely grateful to be a part of his reading journey. Joshua thoroughly enjoys his time with Ms. Katie, as his mom shares, “Joshua loves Ms. Katie and looks forward to seeing her every week. She has a knack for keeping his attention and a plethora of ideas and lesson plans to keep him engaged.”
